The walking route offers beautiful scenery, especially as you walk alongside the canal, but be aware that it's not well-marked. Starting from the parking lot, the path by the canal is lovely, but it's important to note that it doesn't form a loop. If you follow the canal, you'll eventually need to turn around to return to the parking lot. I initially thought it was a loop, but continuing along the canal leads you towards Ballymohan, where the route connects to a busy road with no footpath, making it unsafe for walking.

We cycled from Centre parc to Newcastle wood and through the wood to the royal canal greenway and East on the greenway to Abbeyshrule and back to centre parc by the Newcastle road. A great cycle and lovely paths. Eventually we found a route that avoids the road. Turn right into the wood 300m after the main exit and head to the White bridge. Then turn right for the greenway.

This is a great place for hiking and cycling. Beautiful nature of the Irish forest. The territory of the forest is more than 300 hectares. There is also parking, benches for picnic and rest. Great place to walk with your pets.

Very nice walk around the forest and by the river Inny. Good car park with steps down to river. On Sunday mornings can see kayakers. There is no play ground but children can explore the forest if go straight in the woods. Lots of fallen branches to make a den. Can spot red squirrels and deer. Close to Ballymahon town.

Great place to take a stroll in the woods. Good pathways. Pram and wheelchair friendly. The pathway along the river is very scenic. There is a small kiosk where you can buy drinks and snacks. Lots of picnic areas. Go early as there is not a whole lot of parking available. Definitely worth a visit.
