A scenic viewpoint on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the distant Hambleton Hills.
Well worth a visit on a clear day, the highest point in the area, at 568 ft above sea level with views beyond Rye to the East, and Eastbourne to to West. When I was young there was a viewing platform, but this was destroyed many years ago, but the circular metal plate showing directions and distances to places around the world remains
Close to the town of Hastings yet sufficiently in the country. In fact, this is part of Hastings County Park. Spectacular 360deg views - bring binoculars if you can. There is no real parking as such, but a rough area for approx half a dozen cars available. Very popular with dog walkers, for walks with a view, or to simply look at the brass 'compass' plaque mapping various towns and landmarks at different points of the compass. Several footpaths lead off to Ore Village, Fairlight and the Firehills.
Fantastic views of Hastings and the surrounding countryside. Free parking, nice and quite with a short walking route. In most areas dogs can be walked offlead allthough some areas have livestock these are indicated with signs as dogs must be kept on lead when walking through those fields.
Small parking area which can be quite boggy if its rained but fantastic views out to sea and Dungeness.
The highest point in Hastings. Good views across Hastings to the west and Fairlight and beyond to the East. Free parking. Has a sign at the top that shows you distances and directions of points of interest in all directions.
A quiet place to walk around with the dogs. The views are nice as well.
