A picturesque beach with soft white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water, surrounded by rugged cliffs and scenic coastal paths, offering stunning views of the North Sea and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for relaxation and water activities.
Pretty beautiful beach area - great place for kids as water is quite shallow when the tide is out. Not great for swimming as an adult as it's so shallow but we only went at low tide so might be different at high tide. Nice cafe nearby if you park in the Sea Life carpark and there are clean toilets and changing rooms at 40p a visit which is reasonable for how well looked after they are. There are a couple shops and bars too although I didn't use them. We went as an adult couple to swim and relax and as I said, couldn't swim, but it wasn't crammed so we could relax, read, and eat lunch. A bit calmer than the absolute chaos of the South Bay Beach.
As Yorkshire beaches go, this is pleasant. It is subject to huge tides that completely cover the beach when the tide is in, but reveals a large, clean beach of soft sand with rock pools when it is all the way out. So be sure to check the tide times before you visit. Beach is dog friendly for half of the year, but from May to September, it is strictly NO dogs. However, there is a nice promenade that runs along the length of the beach that is good for dog walks or to enjoy when the tide is all the way in. Parking is a nightmare in peak times, so plan accordingly.
Lovely views. Especially at sunset.
Amazing beach, love watching the world go by here.
That beach is especially preferred by surfers
Enjoy a walk along the dog friendly beach. Very clean
Good for kids
