A picturesque harbour on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, North Berwick Harbour is a charming spot surrounded by historic buildings, quaint shops, and seafood restaurants. The harbour is home to a fleet of fishing boats, and visitors can watch fishermen unloading their daily catch. The harbour wall offers stunning views of the Firth of Forth and the iconic Bass Rock, a small island that's home to a large colony of gannets. On a clear day, the harbour offers breathtaking views of the Scottish coastline.
4 stars because the beach is made of crushed shells not the best for walking on bare footed. Other than that a lovely place lots of places to eat, stunning coastal views on a sunny day. With boat excursions to the island just off the coast. The Scottish Bird Centre was ok shame the main exhibition was close to flooding they had earlier in the year but the cafe looked ok and gift shop didn't have any offerings. I did visit the RNLI shop and spent a small fortune that got me a thumbs up from the volunteer that took my money ha ha. Lovely place but they need more disabled parking spaces and public toilets.
Great place to take a day trip from Edinburgh. Very family-friendly location. Also, don't miss out on a boat cruise to see Bass Rock! Breathe taking views!!
This is a stunning little harbour with lots to view and see. There is a bird center to visit, fish and chip shops, ice cream vans/shops and a little place that serves fresh lobster. The beach is lovely and clean and there is a toy box for the children to pick a toy to play with while on the beach.
North Berwick is always a wonderful place to visit, especially when sun is up.. beach is wonderful, lovely for kids as it has a beach pool for kids...
A stunning little historic harbour. In the summer season, there's plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view. You can catch ferry tours around Bass Rock and other little islands but would recommend pre-booking as these sell out most of the time. In the summer season, you can pick up some fresh seafood at The Lobster Shack right on the harbour, you can get tea, lunches, cake etc from the Seabird Centre and also some fantastic seafood dishes at The Rocketeer. There's also public toilets available.
Lovely place to visit on a sunny day. Plenty cafes. bars . Restaurants. Beach and paddling pool nice area to sit and watch the world.
