We went for a fish and chips supper. It was served wrapped in white paper a cardboard box containing the food. Just like getting a takeaway. Very tasty. We also bought 2 bottles of bitter beer on board train at PS11, which I thought was steep. Especially as it was served in plastic beakers. The trip itself was brilliant. If you book as a couple you get your own 4 seats. The light was gorgeous as it was the evening in August. So lovely photos of the country side. They do other food trips eg afternoon tea but can't comment on those. We will be going back, we might do the afternoon tea.
Lovely to see steam trains in action. The staff were friendly, the carriages were clean and it was a very pleasant day out. I'd thoroughly recommend a trip but be warned, it's not cheap. Check prices before turning up, especially if you have kids.
A wonderful experience. Perhaps the best vintage railway line I've been on. Wish that we'd got the first train out to Sheringham and stayed there watching the Steam and Heritage Diesel engines come in and out. Everything about the Railway is beautiful. Thank you.
Great day out on the rover ticket, not a cheap train journey (if you use it to just go from a to b), but if you regard it as a day out and use trains a few times it's fun, and you can ride multiple engines on a vintage event. We went from Holt and then had lunch in Sheringham. Kids loved it, staff very friendly l, knowledgeable and look great in period uniform.
North Norfolk Railway. We travelled from Sherringham to Holt. Beautiful heritage line running approx 6 miles through the Beautiful Norfolk countryside. We had a steam train on our journey, and there was plenty of space on the carriages. Lovely stations, with food, gifts, model railways, and a museum. At Holt station, we walked into Holt (approx 25 mins), or you can wait for a bus. We spent a little time looking at the shops and then had a pub lunch. Well worth a visit.
I've been coming here for over 10 years, and every time is like a new experience it fantastic, the volunteers are exceptionally good at what they do, and they do it all for the love of steam railways, The trip from Holt to Sheringham is tranquil, picturesque, and calming. The stations are stunning, and the locomotions are ore inspiring, it simply is just a fantastic place to spend the day, hop on hop off at each stop, and/or head into Sheringham, for the local fish and chips, pub lunch or dinner, grab an ice cream, and get to the beach for that tan top up, it's outstanding!!
