We had the privilege to stay in The Tractor Barn at North Thorne Farm in May 2024 and what a wonderful time we all had. I had stayed at the farm many times as a child, so I already knew how great the location was as a base for exploring the area, it is so close to many fantastic attractions and stunning local beaches. However, we were blown away with what the new owners, Sarah and Andrew, had done with the place. Both the cottages and the glamping facilities were second to none and we had the most relaxing and rejuvenating stay. From the cream tea on arrival to the happy and helpful faces that welcomed us on the farm we were made to feel so welcome and part of the family. The Tractor Barn itself was beautifully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay and the beds were sooo comfy. Modern fixtures and fittings, but with so much character. The only problem was, working out when we can stay again. North Thorne is a magical place and all who visit will definitely be back.
Wow. How can I describe it. Wonderful, a step into country paradise. The tractor barn we slept in was newly constructed and incredible. Very clean. Little extras left out for us. Sarah and dave the hosts were very friendly. Horse, chickens, Goats, sheep and a Rabbit. And a reservoir! A real country farm experience. Thank you.
WE stayed in the Tratcor Barn and had a lovely week, The cottage was wonderful and we appreciated the fenced in area as we have a dog. The owners were really pleasant and helpful and gave us some great suggestions on where to eat. Rural and quiet and a great place to experience the Dark Skies on a clear night. You are in close proximity to a small reservoir which has a good path around it and is excellent for dog walks or just to have a quiet walk in lovely surroundings. Highly recommend this cottage - we are likely to be back.
This is a beautiful destination to camp at, the accommodation was great and the beds are super comfortable. You get your own bathroom and they're decorated so nicely, the sink was a book and the wallpaper was pages. Really shows the dedication of the hosts to make it a lovely stay. There are games to do at the site, we played table tennis and had a little fire. Definitely recommend if you're in looking for somewhere to stay in north Devon. The hosts Sarah and Andrew are very welcoming and have made the site a lovely place to visit. :)
Awesome Glamping set up!!! Would be better if you could park nearer to the tents and if there was a shop for essentials. But I'm still giving it 5 stars!!!!
