This 17th-century inn is nestled in the heart of Exmoor National Park, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The inn's rustic charm is evident in its exposed stone walls, wooden beams, and roaring log fires. Guests can enjoy a range of local ales and delicious pub fare in the cozy bar or restaurant, or relax in the tranquil gardens. The inn's rooms are individually decorated with a mix of traditional and modern touches, ensuring a comfortable and peaceful stay.
Lovely location in village with fab walk, uphill behind pub, fantastic views from the top. Quirky pub with lovely food & great hosts. The only reason I gave 4* for the room was that we were downstairs in the Coach house, so a tad dark because we had trees outside the window, but nothing wrong with the actual room at all . Tea/coffee, lovely big cups. Ensuite.
The Notley Arms is a delightful country inn conveniently situated near the M5 in the Exmoor National Park, Somerset. We stayed overnight on our way to Cornwall and had an enjoyable time. Our room was situated in an old coach house adjacent to the main inn. The room was spacious, very clean and our bed was very comfortable. The food was excellent with a varied menu. The hosts were very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area. Thoroughly recommended.
What can we say we visited for a couple of days for boyfriends birthday week away . Plus we had Walter the Dog . Caroline & Simon - what a breath of fresh air as owners and landlords . Very welcoming , warm , nothing to much trouble Food was fabulous, lovely garden and locals were friendly ! Lovely area for a pit stop or stay . We will definitely be back ! Amazing food as well thanks
Superb country hotel, bar and restaurant run by the kindest lady in the business, Caroline, a great host with a great sense of humour. Definitely recommended. Will come again. Excellent food, room, atmosphere, setting and plenty of kindness. I read the neg reviews below and saw none of that. We were 22 Enduro bikers for an evening meal, all served together & it was flawless. Breakfast was the same. The hotel has 8 rooms and they are not a late night bar, they focus on closing the bar around 10 so the guests get a good sleep & the same staff were right in point at 745 or so with breakfast service.
This place was amazing. Me and my other half just fancied a night somewhere in the countryside with great food. The Notley didn't disappoint. Simon and Caroline were fantastic hosts. The food is divine and I even had a glass of champagne for no reason. Very relaxed and lots of space to chill by the fire. The outside looks even better when it finally stops raining we might find out. Highly recommended. If they get themselves on the social media it would be constantly booked up undoubtedly
We had the best Friday night birthday dinner here with the friendliest staff. The lamb and steak dinners were fantastic and I was made to feel so welcome and comfortable, as I was on crutches. They have a stunning love seat in the middle of the pub, do book this for a special occasion As we were visiting the area, the owner had such good recommendations for Somerset and North Devon, that we went further afield than we had planned! Highly recommended.
