This was a surprising gem of a place to visit. Oakwell Hall is surrounded by some lovely walks though trees and opens fields. The paths are well maintained, although some are not suitable for less than the sure footed and there are steps. A children's playground is among the trees. The hall is open in the afternoon. All free, but it's well worth a visit and volluntary donation.
What a beautiful building! Free entry (there's a machine inside to donate towards the maintenance of the building). Coffee van on site selling good coffee and cake, and there's also a little shop/cafe. Gardens are just as stunning. Absolute gem!
The hall itself is amazing. A time capsule for everyone to see. The parkland is beautiful. A mix of woods and open areas, full of nature. A little cafe with seating inside and out is tucked next to the hall. Friendly staff and lovely food. I visit Oakwell Hall often with my walking buddy. It's just wonderful.
best park I have been in kirklees till now. lots of treks, well maintained museum and play areas, exquisite garden...thorough enjoyment
We decorated Oakwell Hall Country Park, a prestigious historic venue for barn weddings. The museum is from the 17th century and has a great staff and clean space for wedding parties. It is suitable for any celebration or event. Thank you all.
