This medieval stone bridge spans the River Ure in Yorkshire, England, featuring five arches and a steep, narrow design that has remained largely unchanged since its construction in the 14th century.
It is a nearly 300 year old bridge that forms part of the old military road network across scotland, built to quell the Jacobite rebellion. I saw only 2 spans of this remarkable complete and strong looking bridge although its hump and with are unsuitable for modern traffic. Just over the bridge and to the left there is a huge Hydro powerstation that was being retrofitted with modern equipment. On the riverside of the road is a nice seat where you can rest and listen to the roar of the water
We stopped off here and took some pictures ( with a camera ) ... the river was in full flow and the views were nice. Worth a quick stop to take them in.
Old bridge that you can no longer drive over, lovely views up river and down, only a short walk from parkdean holiday park in the Tummel valley.
Just a small stop but worth the stop Very old engineering bridge
Great bridge with lots of history. Built by the English to join up the military road after the Jacobite rebellion in 1745. Still stands and has easy access and parking.
Beautiful bridge! Nearly missed it but had parking places on either side of the town.
