This 2-foot narrow-gauge railway is a heritage railway that runs for approximately 10 miles from the old kiln at Tilmanstone to the Wookey station. The railway features a collection of vintage locomotives and rolling stock, offering a nostalgic journey through the picturesque countryside of East Kent.
Spent several hours here. There was so much to see and do. Some artefacts from my childhood (e.g. the older soldering irons you need to heat in a flame first). Bore water pump. Heaps of steam and home made mechanical displays. The railway looks amazing, although it wasn't operating on the day I visited. Lunch at the cafe was simple but tasty! They had run out of potatoes so couldn't do jacket potato, however the other options were still very good.
Very disappointing. I politely asked to see the engines in the sheds that were not operating but was told not possible due to health and safety. The only narrow gauge railway in the country I've come across that have this attitude. Other railways welcome enthusiasts. Puts me off visiting again which is a shame as it's a nice setting
Train is nice.. museum is okay
A lovely little railway with a variety of steam and diesel locomotives along with an extensive collection of rolling stock. The staff are very friendly and the railway perfectly compliments The Rural Life Centre.
Amazing place tucked away in the heart of the countryside. Also it is a great day out for families.
I was honoured to be allowed to access places others weren't.
