Really nice beach with gentle slope to water. Easily accessible thanks to steps and ramp. Usual quiet. Located near to St Marys Church and Old Town Cafe, which also has toilets. Also of note is what is thought to be an old fish salting trough on the path heading away from cafe.
Old town beach is really picturesque, what ever the weather, great for a swim or a kayak or paddleboard (being careful of tides and wind). Close to old town cemetery and with old town cafe just off the beach and the old town stores and old town in just a short walk away. A lovely spot!
Old town bay is a lovely bay with crystal clear water and white sand. It offers a good spot for a safe swim or costal snorkelling.

A very special place. Great for swimming. We stayed at Gilstone just behind Old Town cafe. The accommodation was amazing, really clean and had everything we wanted. The owner was fantastic and was proactive when our flights and boat were cancelled. A very special person. Best week we've spent on the IOS.
