The Old Lighthouse at Dungeness is in fact the fourth of five lighthouses built on what is one of the biggest shingle peninsulas on the world. The historic Grade II listed building was opened by HRM Prince of Wales in 1904. It went on to survive two world wars before being decommissioned in 1960.
Beautiful place to walk. Board walk is little farther than what they have mentioned on signs board (400m). Board walk is absolutely stunning, specially if there's sunshine- you are in luck!
PS5 entrance for adults and PS4.50 for students. Worth the climb, around 300 stairs, but not hard to get to the top. Beautiful view around, someone said we can even see France from it, lol. Not sure if it was worth paid PS5, but it's an interesting experience, with some history while you go up.
Well worth the climb to the top, great views and only a fiver too. Be aware the last flight of steps is quite steep and there's a small door you need to squeeze through at a low level to get outside when you reach the top however!
Well worth a visit, especially if you're on a stopover from the fabulous Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway, it's just next door. The History is interesting, the walk up and out onto the viewing terrace an experience in itself and the views from the top spectacular.
It looks like a bit dystopian, around. And very strong wind. The little train was fun!! Nice beach!!!
Great view from the top. Worth the climb. As everyone noted the last set of steps are steep but shouldn't be a problem for most to navigate. Interesting to see the red & green lenses inside.

Wheelchair-accessible entrance
