Oriel Mon is the premier Museum and Art Gallery on Anglesey and one of the largest Arts and Culture venues in North Wales. Showing over 21 different exhibitions a year, the Oriel boasts a wonderful collection of art by giants such as Sir Kyffin Williams and Charles F. Tunnicliffe. The Oriel also houses a fascinating collection of artefacts including pre historic items, textiles and social history objects. The Oriel's shop presents a wide array of unique gifts by the most innovative craft workers in Wales, whilst the cafe offers a place to relax and enjoy a delicious range of home cooked meals and cakes using the finest local produce.
Fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible loo in the gift shop. Particularly enjoyed the Kyffin Williams and Charles Tunicliffe exhibitions. Very nice cafe - standard UK cafe fare but nicely done and generous portions. Great cakes!
Here for the "Still Here!" photography exhibition by Glyn Davies but first a tasty slice of Bara Brith and a Flat White at Caffi Bach y Boca. All highly recommended
I visited for Glyn Davies' Gallery event in Oriel Mon, amazing photography. The gallery layout is perfect for strolling along and a couple if benches for those who wish to sit & admire the gallery. Oriel Mon has a cafe on site & also a shop with loats of lovely handcrafted local buisness gifts.
Lovely free art gallery with an interesting range of art. I enjoyed the Charles Tunnicliffe section; his work involving animals was amazing. It has a little play area outside for younger children, a large gift shop and an excellent cafe. The scones were as big as my open hand. They stop serving meals at 2pm.
