This beautiful park features rolling hills, woodland, and scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the park's many trails, including the popular Chevin Forest Walk, which offers stunning vistas of the Wharfedale Valley. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, foxes, and birds, and features several picnic areas and a cafe. On a clear day, the park offers breathtaking views of the nearby town of Otley and the distant hills of the Yorkshire Dales.
A super place for a walk. Boots advised, as it's rough ground. Views to north and south, plus close up plane spotting on the final approach to Leeds a couple of miles to the south east. Paths along the hillside vary from the open views at the top through various woods below. Large rocks and trackside walls reveal the quarrying past of the site.
Lovely walk - hope to come back on a sunnier day one day but as a result of the weather around the time that we came it wasn't too busy and we had no trouble getting parked. The route we took took about an hour which was exactly what we were looking for
Easy parking although spaces were limited at the one we used but only a few yards away from the forest walk. Beautiful surroundings and lots of paths leading from the public bridleway. Was very muddy after a few weeks of rain so didn't explore. Good place to take a dog. Looking forward to visiting in better weather. Some lovely sculptures through the nature reserve
What a lovely place- great walks, views and overlooks the runway if you get the right spot. Lovely place for a picnic too and the car park is FREE!
Beautiful place but can be quite muddy. No bins past car park and not toilets. Basically just a wooded area.
Fantastic place for a walk, bike, run or horse ride. Looks like there's wild campers as well. There's a couple of car parks at the main entrance to the chevin, they can get busy but you can usually find somewhere. There's other entrances with some road side parking available as well. There's various totes you can take to make it less or more challenging and make a walk anything from 10 mins to 2 hours. All paths have great scenery and some have some wonderful views overlooking Otley. It's usually fairly busy with people and dogs but plenty of space so not crowded. Also there are horses being rode up there often so one to be aware of depending how your dog is.
