This tranquil lakeside spot in the Peak District National Park offers scenic views, walking trails, and picnic areas surrounded by lush greenery and serene waters.
What a wonderful find. Lots of dog walks through the woods along the river. Was muddy in places so walking boots or wellies are a good idea. There's a map of the area in the car park and also lots of information boards along the paths. The lakes were absolutely beautiful!
Great place for a peaceful walk. Free parking and plenty of paths to explore. Only a mile and a half walk to a decent country pub too! (The York Inn, Churchinford.)
Very beautiful place, split into two lakes separated by a little River. One lake is higher than the other. Lots of little tracks going to different directions to explore, and a little waterfall which was very beautiful. The car park is free and not far from the car park to the actual lake. Some of the paths aren't well maintained and it was very difficult to walk down them.
Great spot for a morning walk with kids ... little creek was a treat for the little ones. They enjoy climbing wood logs, stomping on mud puddles and jumping into creek for a little dip. Beautiful woodlands with birds singing, blue bell carpets and tall pine trees everywhere !! It was a great adventure walk for our kids. They loved it ;-)
The walk was really wet, but I still enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to going back in the summer when it's hopefully a bit drier.
Visually stunning place to walk. Every turn through the fairly open forrest presented a new visual treat. Some wild life in the form of Swans and Ducks. The car park is not as small as I thought it would be (because of other reviews), but upon our return it was full and some cars were parked in the road, so a very popular place. Just be aware that some of the walking can be a little difficult due to narrow, boggy and uneven paths.
