A stunning Victorian mansion situated in Northamptonshire, Overstone Hall boasts an impressive façade with intricate stone carvings, ornate chimneys, and a grand clock tower. The hall's interior features opulent decor, including lavish chandeliers, ornate plasterwork, and intricately patterned ceilings. The surrounding parkland offers scenic walking trails, a tranquil lake, and beautifully manicured gardens, providing a serene atmosphere for visitors to explore and relax.
Direction were good, however can only go as fast as Overstone Parish church. The gate to hall are closed. Signs stating private ground no access. It appears there may be some restoration work being carried out on hall.
Used to go to school here, breaks my heart. So much for the once beautiful Hall being restored......... Cynical me may think that was only said as a way of getting planning permission.....
Can't get access, nothing to see since security are there 24/7. Keeps the vandals away though so that's good!
So, this is very much closed to the public, but used to be passable at one stage, although the building itself is unsafe. However, the surrounding area, when it was accessible, was nice to explore and a photographer's dream. It's a shame nothing was done to repair this once magnificent building, owned in a past life by Lady Wantage, since it was burned down. There are still a few surprises nearby. See pic.
Shameful that they left it to rot now the place is fire damaged they can probably knock it down was a beautiful place owners should be ashamed not restoring the building
Unloved mansion, Sad it's been left to rot things should of been sorted straight after the first fire not looking good for it now
