A network of trails connects reed beds, meadows, ponds & birdwatching hides in a protected park.
Lots of walks all on the flat and plenty to see. Great children's play park and picnic tables near the visitor centre. Also a lovely sensory garden with great wooden animal sculpture. There are two hides for those interested in birdwatching. There are also two cafes, one at the visitor centre and one at Kinnego Marina
Lovely place for a walk forgot how nice Oxford island is. Shame about the Lough in the past year or so with algae but seemed clearer when we visited. The bugs made it difficult to sit and have lunch but it was nice all the same. The woman who served my wife in the cafe was rude and rushed people along - the cafe is over expensive for what you get. All in all a great place and busy which is nice!
Was ok, the walk around it wasn't that pleasant or much to look at. Much nicer walks elsewhere in my opinion! The kids play park is good for the kiddies.
Love the play area here. We have only been while its winter, so there has been an abundance of parking. We enjoy looking at the ducks and gulls in the pond around the info center and enjoyed the art display in the center. Toilets in the center are impeccably clean, and there is a fully stocked vending machine (which includes coffee). Definitely one of our little one's favourite play stops. Keen to see the restaurant open up over the summer.
Just off the M1 near Belfast. Ample parking and a visitor centre sadly the cafe overlooking the lough wasn't open on my visit but it looks a great spot. Pleasing walk with lots of wildlife to photograph. The birds are pretty tame, I suspect they are fed by visitors. Spotlessly clean toilets always a pleasent surprise.
Such a beautiful place on the shore or loch neach. They have free parking, a huge play area, lovely walks a cafe, public loos and an information centre. It was fantastic seeing the birds, rabbits and other wildlife and it was so tranquil. Definitely worth a visit to take in the UK's largest lake.
