What a beautiful place this is!!! If you follow Google Maps you'll arrive at a very small entry to the woodland, so you might miss it so drive slowly. On both sides of the road you'll notice parking bays for a few cars. This is free of charge. The woodland is deceptively big. There are various trails to take which eventually will lead you to the stream. This runs across the woodland. It is muddy around it, but I was wearing flip flops and it wasn't an issue. Can see the water rising in winter and getting muddier. Around the woodland there are fields and you can walk on these too, on the side footpaths. There are no horseriders or livestock in the woodland itself however we've seen some in the fields around. We spent around three hours here and didn't see a soul!!! Very quiet My doggies loved this place we are definitely going back!!!
Beautiful woods with bluebells and oak and chestnut trees on the south side. Then a stream which meets it at the South East Corner perfect for Doggy paddles

Good dog walking area. Gets v muddy on some of the trails through the trees. There's a stream at one edge, crossing the track to Oxton, that hosts American crayfish. These can walk across the track and are big. Take care with young children and dogs.
