This ancient woodland is a treasure trove of natural beauty, with towering trees, sparkling streams, and a diverse array of wildlife. The forest floor is carpeted with bluebells, wild garlic, and ferns, while the canopy above is home to birdsong and the rustle of leaves. Winding trails and pathways invite exploration, leading visitors through a serene and enchanting landscape that has remained largely unchanged for centuries.
Lovely walking trail with forest on one side and shrubs on the other. 2 parking spaces accomodating about 20 cars in all. Was not crowded on the Sunday that I visited, could comfortably find parking. Both my dogs enjoyed all the sniffing and walking. No benches or tables, so, if you are planning for a picnic, bring your own. All in all, loved the nature.
One of my favourite places to walk around, Great for fungi walks too!
Such a lovely place to be outside enjoying the summer, you can walk as far or as little as you want and it's peaceful. Remember that wild animals roam free though such a cattle and deer so make sure your dogs are not causing them a problem I am a dog owner and don't want us humans to be a problem to the wildlife in the forest
Nice open space. Path signs are a bit unreliable though. Keep dogs on leads because of deer. Also lots of signs about dog thefts.
Quiet, beautiful, range of wildlife seen
Amazing forest, perfect for walking and biking.
