Public green space with a local history museum, plus an elegant sunken pond & themed gardens.
Lovely park, dogs not allowed, squirrels and other wildlife in abundance. On a slope, but there are lovely paths that avoid the steps. One corner has a well equipped play park. A quiet haven with lovely views, just a stones throw away from the busy shops.
There is a museum in this park and it is a must see. The park is beautiful and views are great. There's a cafe inside with delicious food and the museum has so much to look at that you could spend hours in it. Very impressive.
Lovely place to walk around on our way up to the museum. The gardens are well maintained and quite the peaceful spot so close to the town centre. We watched a man hand feeding the squirrels who appeared to be used to people taking them title bits to eat.
Beautiful landscaped gardens, beautiful flowers, unspoiled too. The park at the top is great too - our kids love it
We have only been to Whitby a handful of times but each time we visit we make sure we walk around this well looked after park, mostly because we love the interaction from the squirrells. If you want to get up close then this is definitely the place to be. Having said that any small noise scares them away so if you didn't want them close to you then that wouldn't be a problem.
Lovely place to just sit in quiet if you get bored with the beach and want to hide :)
