We have stayed at several park deans across the UK this was the first time at southerness. The caravan was spotless and had everything we needed. Really surprised at the space we had in the bedrooms and the radiators came in handy for drying towels and costumes during the bad weather. We were pleasently suprised at how clean and tidy the amusements and bars were too. The staff are friendly and helpful and make the holiday all that more special for the kids. Big shout out to the lifeguards in the pool especially Andy and Archie, our girls loved the slide and being pushed into the pool! The entertainment staff were great too, Louis, Luke and Tasha made it extra special with appearances from all the starland krew including pip squeek. Great holiday we used the laundrette with no problems and shop on site. There's a fish and chip shop not far away from the site as well and direct access to the beach, we had a lovely time. Managed a few nice days out when the weather was better. It's very windy being near the coast and we had a lot of rain but can't plan the weather and we made the most of it. Would really recommend this site as family friendly!
Our caravan on Merse Place was very clean and spacious, and our 5 year old loved the TV in his bedroom! The location was ideal as we were close to a play ground and not too far away from the Entertainment Hub. |We have to give the entertainment staff a mention (Emily, Tasha, Luke, Lewis, Megan and Katie) as they are all very hard working. An extra special shout out to Emily and Luke who could not do enough for us. They were entertaining, funny and approachable. The entertainment was varied every night. We loved Who Wants to Live Forever, but our favourite show had to be Best of the Fest. Emily and Tasha were phenomenal, and the dance floor was full (even my 83 year old mum was up dancing at one point!). |While we were there we used the swimming pool, arcades, soft play and bar/resteraunt.|We look forward to returning to Southerness in the future and would recommend this park.
Absolutely amazing holiday, despite the unpredictable UK weather. |Our lodge was spotless and equipped with everything we needed during our holiday. The entertainment team at Park Dean at Southerness was awesome. We have visited few Park Dean resorts and this entertainment team were the best we've seen. Well done Tasha, Katie, Megan and Emily. The live performance and singing we absolutely brilliant. |Thank you for an amazing week.
Reasonable prices when booked early and the caravans are comfortable and have enough utilities that you can self cater during your stay. Beds are comfortable and come with bedding. Caravans are easy to keep clean. The facilities on site are good and modern with the only down side that the onsite shop is a bit expensive (understandably as will need to make their money during the summer).||We stayed in lakeview and it's only a few minutes to walk to the beach. Staff we interacted with were excellent and friendly. ||Food options on site are good and delivery to the caravan was a nice option even though you have to check different time to see if food is available. ||Overall a great destination for a holiday and not too far from Dumfries.

All 3 kids 4, 7 and 12 enjoyed designing their t shirts. |Lovely meals in the restaurant , great deals so look out for them.|Book activities well in advance, especially swimming gets booked up quick.|Value for money. All of the staff on site were very friendly and welcoming.|The caravan was OK, everything we needed. I did have to give a couple of the cupboards a clean before using them though. |The entertainment team were amazing! Luke, Lewis, Tasha, Emily, katie and Megan were all fantastic! The girls are so talented! We mostly enjoyed the discos in the dark and the 90s club classics. The girls singing the cub classics were just excellent! Full of talent and energy! |The location of the site is wonderful. The beach provides the best rock pools and the sea was great for wave jumping and paddling. Too rocky for body boarding though! |The swimming pool was good but you either have to book well in advance or queue 30 mins before the session to get in. It is only short sessions as the pool is used for other activities during the day. |The only negative is the cleanliness. The site had a lot of litter around. Seagulls had pulled rubbish out of the bins, it took 2 days to get cleaned up! It wasn't nice walking g past used nappies and manky waste! The site could do with someone consistently on litter duty. |All in all, we had a good holiday with great entertainment.
