Newbold Quarry is a little oasis, so close to the town. Can walk around the edge of the water, or climb up to view all round: Newbold Church, the cement works. Mainly wooded, with some open spaces. Small car park, no other facilities. Has access to Oxford canal, for a longer walk, so within reach of Eliots Field Retail Park.
I'm all in favour of making use of the land. But I wouldn't have visited had I known there is limited access for people using sticks! If your compromised in any way, forget it. Steep paths, stairs & steps. No view from paths due to tall surrounding fence! Should be made clear on warning notices! There are enough of them!
It's a good place to spend a peaceful evening. There are no facilities. The place is not highly maintained but it has a real raw and nice feel. There is a canal walk that offers good view of nice green land on the other side, Cows were grazing when we went. Walk around the lake is nice, we took the stairs and view from top was beautiful.
Nice little water to walk round. You can fish there but not sure where to get a ticket. Has the usual ensamble of ducks and water fowl. However, could have more litter patrols as there was quite a bit in our walk round and more benches to enjoy the views.
A beautiful haven on the outskirts of Rugby that the council have turned into a nature reserve and public park. The only thing that spoils it is the people who continually try to swim in disused quarry despite notices to the contrary.
It one of my favourite park with lake and a big trail for trekking , cycling and just for a walk, amazing views , beautiful landscape, you have free park as well. Very recommended. It smells like a freedom
