This 188-acre park features walking and cycling trails, a lake, woodland, and grasslands, offering a peaceful escape from the city.
Had a walk around for the first time in maybe twenty years ? What a pretty place this is . Very serene with plenty of ducks geese parakeets Moor hens etc . Free parking so for a short walk a far better option than belhus woods .
A delightful Park with outstanding beauty! A beautiful Angling Lake surrounded by Woodlands! Walking along the wide footpath by the lake is really an amazing experience - mesmerising environment - rustling leaves - tweets - chirping of birds ! Grass area is perfect for having a picnic, rest, ralax and experience the wonderful Parklands! Even though, it is by the busy 40 mph Park Farm Road - as you go deeper inside the Parklands - an amazing feeling of calmness and fullness! Musical wind creates gentle waves of sparkling water! - one could spend hours watching the wildfowl swimming playing in the water and would not feel exhausted! Canopies of mature trees let the radiant sunshine coming through and allow visitors and wildlife to play hide and seek with the sun! By the car park, layers of steps under a small wooden bridge create a mini waterfall in the lake - truly enhances the beauty of the Parklands! A reasonable size car park is a godsend for visitors enabling access to all! Getting in and out of car park is bit tricky as the road is 40mph (often cars drive at 40+ ) and has narrow turning space & restricted visibility - extra caution is strongly recommended! Footpath in the park is sturdy enough for those with access needs ie wheelchair mobility scooter! Take precautions after bad weather ie rainy or snow ! Plz be extra mindful of the edge of the lake as there is no barrier or fence along the lake. The Lake is an Angling lake and available for hire! A truly amazing experience for all of all ages and all abilities!
Nice little walk. Short ( 15 mins roughly ). Beautiful lake and bridge. Fishing is horrific in the lake, as its wayyyyyy too weedy. Needs alot of tlc before its fishable again.
Very pretty area with a long, large pond with geese and ducks. Open to fishing. Small car park for about ten vehicles. It was very peaceful today with only the sounds of tweeting birds and ducks slashing in the water. The area is very small so it's ideal for a short dog walk or to come and have a picnic when it's warm, but there are no facilities to stay all day. There is a bridge crossing the pond, so you can walk back up on the other side, but the bridle path was quite narrow and muddy, so if you're not steady on your feet or walk with an aid, it is not recommended to walk on that side. There are a couple of bins for dog poop and some benches so you can sit a while.
