Pen Rocks, a unique geological formation, consists of two large rocks resembling a pen or pencil, situated on the top of a hill in Cornwall, England. The rocks are about 50 feet tall and are surrounded by a rugged landscape, offering breathtaking views of the coastline. The site is easily accessible via a short walk from the nearby car park, making it a popular spot for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
Hidden gem in Looe. Just at the end of left side beach, there's a small walkway between rocks. See otherwise and you surprised by the view. Bit Rocky so better if you wear proper footwear. There's limited access of stairs because of old staircase rusty and removed broken pieces. Very quiet and calm place where you can hear just water waves and birds sounds.
rocky beach, dog friendly
Local tomb stoning rock. There were ladders but got removed due to rust . The rock face that faces you is the safe side to climb up. Jumping is to the right from my picture. Alway swim out and test the depth 1st . May at worst jump from the lower rocks 1st. Only safe to jump about hour before high tide and 45 minutes after. Lots of submerged rock all around . Caution and not for diving. To the left are more rocks and very much a washing machine experience. No go zone behind Pen Rocks . Water can be very cold even in summer. Wet suit recommended.
Beautiful and (relatively) accessible. Must see if you are in the area. Ideally with sensible footware
Lovely at low tide, great rock pools. Kids love it
