Local history museum with a restored 18th-century walled garden, a tea room & gifts by area artists.
Technically free but donations are welcome and well worth it. Had a wander around the park next to the heritage centre and decided to check out the walled garden. Brilliant! Not only are there lots of historically grown plants there's a fairy walk and a rebuilt 15th century barn (sorry no photos of the barn you'll have to go see it yourself). Cafe and locally focused museum there is good if you have kids. Parking across road is ANPR and takes card or cash for payment. First hour is free. George and Dragon pub just over bridge if you fancy a pint or a snack or both.
Worth a stop to have a looks round and have some cake. Will take about 1hr-2hr Nice gardens, informatice museum and nice cafe with lovely cake. Also not expensive admission or food.

I have visited twice in the last couple of weeks due to the British Textile Biennial. Once was to see an installation in the medieval cruck and the second time to attend a workshop. Both times I took advantage of the beautiful cafe and gardens and the cheapest parking around.
Great tour of The Pendle Witches from the centre. Lovely meal. Lovely place to visit. Parking cheap enough over the road if no spaces on the road. Its not surfaced but it is convenient.
