This 1.5-mile trail features 10 sculptures created by local artists, each one inspired by the natural beauty and rich history of Pendle Hill. The trail takes visitors on a winding journey through woodland and moorland, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Loved this place. Its like beacon fell but smaller. The sculptures are fascinating and somewhat very wierd. Remember to check out the trees for spiders and bats. Good place up top for a rest or snack but no seating at all so bring a blanket to sit on. Takes about 2 hours to gently stroll through with toddlers. The beginning climb is tough but it's easy after that. Could do with a bin nearby as we found lots of litter on site. Good for kids of any age and a nice place to visit for half a day.
Great outdoor experience for all ages. Beautiful scenery and the village of Barley is absolutely stunning! It lies at the very feet of Pendle Hill and you cannot imagine something more picteresque. It offers great day out for full family, including kids. There is Pendle Hill, water reservoir, (over)pricey cafe, public convenience and lovely trail with many sculptures. Highly recommended
If your visiting Pendle Sculpture I recommend that you park at Barley Picnic Park, there is plenty of parking there and it's very cheap! You walk a little through the town to get to the starting point! Light walk up a country road, then you get to the woods and loop round! Not gonna lie the first part of the woods is not for the faint hearted.. It has gorgeous views, and it's a nice place to go and kill some time if you have any spare! The kids really enjoyed there time here..
What an absolutely stunning woodland area with some beautiful wooden sculptures that in my opinion, perfectly give off what they are describing. Some of Pendle's history is based on witches, and this sculpture park was a brilliant idea to capture it, being fun and suitable for all ages. There is a little climb but it's a straight forward path and it's marked out well. You can park in Barley village (where you can also eat, there are a couple of pubs) or a bit further away, for example, Newchurch in Pendle, which is where we parked. There is an awesome Witchy shop that sells items such souvenirs, gothic , and spiritual. It's brilliant.
Nice trail but very steep and a bit of a walk there from Barley car park, and rather muddy in places, including one part that we had to leap over, but others turned around at.
Quite steep - not for the faint hearted. Could be improved with stories/facts at each sculpture to make it more of a trail. Beautiful views from the top. Got lost a few times, better signposting might help. Absolutely no parking available here.
