Vast parkland with walking, cycling and horseriding trails, a bird reserve and kids' play areas.
Used as a stopping place on a long journey down the M6. Lovely flowers, good parking, various play park areas. Severely let down by utterly shocking toilets with no hand soap, half out of order, very dirty and no baby change facilities at all!! To add to this, they lock the toilets up far earlier than the park is open (seem to be locked up when the cafe closes but this isn't stated anywhere) - we were lucky we used the toilets as we arrived else we wouldn't have been able to at all! For a children's play park, why have they not invested in modern toilet facilities with proper facilities for baby changing?! Clearly a lot of investment is being made to other areas but it's wasted without acceptable toilet and changing facilities.
Very pretty at the moment with all the the blooming flowers which makes it delightful walking round the bowling greens. It's also the perfect place for those of us who can't walk far without sitting down for a rest yet still want to exercise. There are lots benches and the tarmac is flat which allows stabilty & a super cafe stop at the end of your walk! Perfect!
Love this park,I have lived in Leigh all my life and it's beautiful.. much better than other parks, the flowers, tennis courts and football areas and a bonus.. the cafe is a lovely bonus as i remember before it was there .. i have 4 children and the all love Pennington park and its always top choice.
I have been visiting this park for over 33 years, and it remains as well-maintained and family-friendly as ever. The recent addition of a cafe has further enhanced the park's appeal. However, I was slightly disappointed with my experience at the cafe. After waiting for over 15 minutes, I was served a Biscoff milkshake that was not as cold as I had hoped, and it tasted more like flavored milk with whipped cream. While I did not complain at the time, as there were families and children enjoying themselves nearby, I will refrain from purchasing milkshakes from the cafe in the future to avoid further disappointment. Nevertheless, the park itself remains a delightful place to relax, enjoy the scenery, and take in the pleasant atmosphere.
Beautiful, clean very spacious park with vast range of play equipment, bonus of a cafeteria there and parking. Lots of benches. Definitely reccomend
