Pensthorpe is the ultimate destination for discovery. Our staggering 700-acre site includes four fabulous gardens and a species-rich nature reserve. Take a trail through wetlands and hedgerows, woodland and riverbanks, and farmland and water meadows. And duck into a bird hide along the way to get up close with feathered friends There are awesome activities for little nature lovers too. From our impressive outdoor eco-friendly play area, WildRootz, to rope bridges and snaking slides inside Hootz House. Enjoy a ride off-road on the Pensthorpe Explorer and check out fascinating fossils in the Discovery Centre. Finally, don't forget to wet your beak at our cafe and stop in our shop for wildlife books, toys, bird feeders, and local produce.
Really enjoyed our time there, lots of pathways that take you around the park, you can stick to the lakes or venture through the woodlands (which I recommend),there's also beautiful gardens and some wonderful sculptures.
Absolutely gorgeous place. A choice of trails round beautiful lakes and meadows. The paths are all in good condition too. Loved all the unusual birds and it was so sweet to see the crane chick. Good parking area and very nice cafe. Well worth a visit. We were there hours just wandering around as its so peaceful with lots to see
We went here today and arrived when it opened and left when it closed and we all LOVED it! There is so much to do for all ages. Great outdoor and indoor play areas, lots of coffee stops and benches. Take a camera and some binoculars for all the amazing wildlife
Fantastic place to visit. Stunning place all round. So much for kids to run around and explore. Park was great and indoor play was well organised and great fun. Staff are all very friendly. My little boy had his disability buggy we noticed they have certain tracks marked on map for what ways are accessible for wheel chairs etc and what aren't. They have tried really hard to be inclusive where they can and you can definitely see this. Everything was spotless and well maintained when we visited today. Would definitely visit again
Lovely place to visit. There's beautiful ducks wandering around everywhere- they were so tame! It's a great place to spot all sorts of birds in their habitats with hides where you can sit and look out across various lakes.
Beautiful opportunity to stroll the extensive grounds and observe nature in action. Our 2nd time here and just as lovely. Did the onsite camping this year- great location with easy car access and close to the park entrance and great value with access heavily discounted when you camp- meaning we walked around every day. It was lovely to be in a nature reserve but the camping was a tad basic- some nicer toilets & showers and better kitchen amenities would have made a huge difference. It's their first time doing camping so hopefully lots of lessons learned this year (like separating family camping from couple camping- and creating a more special setting for their own clamping tents.
