Located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, Pentargon Waterfall is a breathtaking natural wonder that drops 90 feet into a scenic valley. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is accessible via a moderate 1-mile hike from the nearby village of Pontsticill. The waterfall's source is the River Fechan, which flows from the nearby mountains and creates a misty veil that rises from the base of the falls. On sunny days, the mist creates a stunning rainbow effect, adding to the waterfall's natural beauty. The tranquil surroundings and the roar of the waterfall make it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers.
Lovely coastal path walk from Boscastle to get here. Nice views along the coast. Not a great waterfall in the summer unfortunately but I can imagine in the wetter months it is a strong flowing fall.
The pictures you'll see of the waterfall are drone photos I'm sure.. because in real life, when you start from the farm shop car park, you'll cross the cow field, walk along the eroded coastal path, go through a lovers gate onto the cow field again, head to the corner and through a stile. From here, my kids reckon they counted 200+ steep steps down to the bridge. This bridge spans the waterfall source. Anywhere in this area you'll see water blowing up out of the waterfall top, but you won't see the fall directly. You can't get anywhere near, as the brown sign means 'no public access' or rambling prohibited (for your own safety)
Amazing, muddy steep to get too if taking coastal path but fun and well worth it. Or can reach it by Boscastle Farm & Cafe. Brilliant definitely recommend.
Nice waterfall, but less impressive than expected.
We asked for directions to waterfall Boscastle Farm shop, and were advised to 'not get too excited', waterfall rather underwhelming. A short steep walk up and down the hills either side, nothing spectacular
Really worth a visit! Lovely walk and once you get to the waterfall the scenery around you is stunning! We took our shoes off (the water was sooo cold) and had a picture right next to the water fall!
