A rugged headland on the north coast of Cornwall, Pentire Point West offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding coastline. The point is marked by a distinctive cluster of rocks and is a popular spot for walkers and nature lovers. On a clear day, the views stretch as far as the Lizard Peninsula to the east and the Isles of Scilly to the west. The coastal path winds its way around the point, providing a thrilling and sometimes challenging hike. The area is also known for its abundant wildlife, including seabirds, seals, and dolphins.
Amazing to visit in June time when all of the poppies are out in the fields, absolutely beautiful and a must visit. We have been visiting for the last 2 years or so now and always make a point to travel up an hour from St Ives to see it and its always just so stunning. An absolute dream for photographers! Amazing views all round.
Enchanting view when visiting in june and the fields are red in poppies bloom. We love it.
Pentire Point West is a lovely part of Cornwall, probably one of the quieter areas compared to most. I walked from Crantock National Trust car park to Polly Joke beach which took around 45 minutes. Crantock beach is beautiful & is massive when the tide is out. You can walk either on the beach or across the sand dunes & the scenery is spectacular. The walk is generally flat so one of the easier ones to try.
Fantastic views and clear air from the cliffs as well as the beach. Always a joy to walk here and get into the surf when its warm enough. There are no facilities on the beach or close by but that's the whole point in going here!
If you come on a stormy night, the swell can be something special. Great place for photography.
Visited when the poppies were out, although they were past there best. It was an awesome site and definitely not one to miss.
Good for kids
