It's a fascinating little booth. It has been restored from ruins. The keys are obtained from the ground floor of the shop opposite. PS2 per person. It's a fascinating little piece of history. The Hanseatic league used this a trading post, the islanders selling dried cod and ling. The Hansa mainly from Bergen (but directly from Bremen latterly) sold linens, other foods and tools. The museum has two floors, each with its own display. It's well worth a visit for anyone interested in the Hansa.
This is a little treasure with a fascinating history. We are so lucky that people are prepared to save and conserve these little pieces of our past. Small as it is, it is definitely worth a visit if you are "passing". Shetland has many such small museums looked after by people who love and respect its history and for those of us visitors who dip in and out, we are fortunate that they do.
