Pig Leg Lane is a narrow, winding street in York, England, that dates back to the 14th century. The lane is lined with medieval timber-framed buildings, some of which lean inwards, giving the impression that they are about to collapse. The street is paved with cobblestones and features a few small shops, cafes, and restaurants. Its unique charm and historical significance make it a popular tourist destination, particularly for those interested in exploring York's rich heritage.
Pig leg always has something different each time you visit. Unfortunately, one thing I noticed was that the bird feeders were all empty. They were not empty due to hungry birds. As there was no seed on the ground. But it was really wonderful to see tadpoles. It's been a while since seeing a squirrel, but they are there. There are a incredibly amount of wildlife to be seen at pig leg Lane. But do watch out for motorcycles which spoils this wonderful places
Its a beautiful walk but dog walkers must pick up the dog mess especially when children run around and explore wildlife its not pleasant especially the smell walking down small lane into the nature reserve people want to smell clean grass and fresh air
People just don't realise this nature reserve is here. Follows along side railway escarpment and allotments. Great place to view inland wildlife.
A small bit of tranquility.
Probably very nice in spring and summer. In winter rather muddy and without wildlife
Such a good place to walk the dogs within five minutes of home.
