Pitcairn's Glen is a beautiful and tranquil woodland area located in Perth, Scotland. The glen features a stunning collection of trees, including conifers, deciduous, and ornamental species, which create a vibrant and colorful atmosphere. A meandering burn (stream) runs through the heart of the glen, adding to the serene ambiance. Visitors can explore the area via a network of winding paths and walkways, taking in the sights and sounds of nature. The glen is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, squirrels, and other small creatures.
Relatively unspoilt and easy to access. You can park in Dunning and then use the path along the river to access the glen. As long as you come when it's not too wet then you won't struggle with this trail. I did struggle at one point due to a small bridge being destroyed and fell down the hill but I was able to jump across. Easy trail with only a few steep bits. Nice and peaceful and secluded.
Hidden gem. The walk starts from south of Dunning (Newton of Pitcairns area). From Newton of Pitcairns head south up the hill until you come across a stone archway (alternatively walk up to the white house for another access path). Go through and follow path up the glen passing several small waterfalls. There is a circuit in the upper glen. Can be very muddy at times & some parts are steep.
Great walk with the family. Not too busy. Steps at the end were steep and a fallen tree had tore some of it up so watch your step.
