This viewpoint offers a unique perspective on the bustling airport, allowing visitors to observe planes taking off and landing from a close proximity. The spot provides an unobstructed view of the runway, making it a popular spot for aviation enthusiasts and plane spotters. With its elevated position, visitors can get a bird's eye view of the airport's operations, watching as planes taxi, take off, and land. The viewpoint is equipped with information boards and binoculars, enhancing the overall experience and providing a fun and educational activity for visitors of all ages.
Very nice little spot to take a picnic and watch the planes either take off or land. Nice a quiet typically. Good for any time of the day. Long grass to sit on. Planes are very close. It's a bit of a walk to get there from Birmingham International but you can trim some of that walking time off by going through the airport via the monorail.
So don't get me wrong this is a great spot. I did only visit once so my knowledge may be wrong. If you want a great view you have to go on the private area which isn't the best. But overall great view of the airport right at the runway threshold. It's free if you want to go
The best place by far to view the planes. If you sit on the hill you can sometimes feel the heat of the engines and the high wind whistling through the blades of grass. 10 stars out of 5 for me.
Great place to see the aircraft landing and taking off. This is at Sheldon country park viewing area. Great viewing area!
This is a great spot to watch planes with the kids. But, according to Solihull Council, deserted Clock Lane is a vital part of the airport and parking here will earn you fine. So, either park at the airport and walk over, ride a bike or teleport yourself to avoid the wrath of Solihull Council and save yourself PS35.
Good place to see planes taking off or landing, but no parking nearby. I prefer the other end of the runway at Sheldon country park. There's loads of parking and a much clearer view of the full runway.
Good for kids
