This ancient woodland is a tranquil oasis, with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. The woods are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including oak, beech, and ash trees, as well as rare species of butterflies and birds. Visitors can explore the woods via a network of walking trails, including the 2-mile Plumpton Woods Trail, which takes you on a journey through the forest's hidden clearings and ancient tree lines. The woods are also dotted with historic features, including ancient boundary stones and the remnants of a medieval hunting lodge.
This is more of a hiking woods,if you want made paths then this isn't place for you. There is one made path through middle but rest of paths are pretty overgrown. If you look at maps in satellite you can see paths. I managed about 2 miles without going over old ground. Very quiet and I don't think many people use the woods. Great place but hard work.
Was the only person here, great stuff pure peace. No traffic no noise just nature. Go in summer unless you want to get muddy or get boots on.
Lovely location and great place to visit
Peaceful and tranquil place, not usually too busy.
Local to me and always quiet
Lovely place walk the dogs, shame there is no parking
Hiking
Good for kids
Dogs allowed
