Lord have mercy on my soul. I'm currently sat here at a child's birthday party. The place is just grim. Grotty, scabby and absolutely filthy. I dread to think what we're going to catch from here! Dirty tables, dirty floors, dirty soft play area, the list is endless! It would be more hygienic for my child to play at the local tip! It's absolutely freezing in here!! We won't be going back again
After spending one hour and 45 minutes at polar Palace (1 hour spent waiting for food which was raw pizza covered in chunks of garlic ), my family and friends came away starving, dissatisfied and FREEZING!!! The kids equipment is filthy and overall just has a dark feeling about the whole place! If 'polar palace' is trying to live up to its name then well done!! It's about -1deg in there. Never to return folks !!!! If I were to make a suggestion, it is to have more staff than 1 in the kitchen and 1 out in the front with a roomful of customers or have adequately trained staff!! Photos are some equiptment from the kids kitchen!!! Filthy EDIT: your response to this review and many other negative ones is very condescending. We visited midday, I don't think dried up dirt on a toy shows 'regular cleaning' and I definitely don't think it would have got so filthy within just a matter of hours of your opening time. Just to note aswell, when I then explained my frustrations to your manager, she was then going around cleaning up. Does it take a first time customer for you to do simple tasks? And for the pizza, did you eat it yourself? I wouldn't even feed my dog that clumpy garlic pizza. Not to mention the really sad panini I received 15 mins before our session ended which was filled with what looked like half a piece of bacon cut up, and gone off cranberry! Cold chips and browned salad! I didn't even touch it and just left it at your unmanned till for you to see for yourself. 1 hour wait time for that was just unacceptable!! I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt from the first 15 minutes of my visit but unfortunately I will not even recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Visited today (been many times before) however left early due to being appalled the whole experience. Tables were crammed together and in my opinion it felt unsafe. There was kids going up the slide the wrong way in huge crowds and I found one child to be climbing the actual structure on the outside. Once again staff are oblivious and to run a business where I feel kids are being put in danger is appalling. Arguable parents should make sure their children are safe but I do think the staff need to step in and I have found this on numerous visits staff don't care. Today I did feel the need to let the staff know only to be shrugged off and almost laughed at. We won't be returning, I would rather pay more and drive further to ensure that my child is safe and go where staff actually make sure children are behaving on the equipment provided. Other places I have found to be cleaner also.
Had a VIP party for our daughter here. She had such a great time! The VIP party doesn't come with decorations but they were more than happy to allow us to bring our own. We were allowed in early enough to set up. Foam/snow party was included, which the kids/big kids loved. Then food was served shortly after which were individual plates for each child including sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza, crisps and carrot sticks and then ice-cream, biscuits and marshmallows for pudding. A sandwich platter was also provided for the adults. Sweet cones were given at the end so didn't have to worry about party bags. Staff were really lovely. I have seen a few previous reviews mention hygiene but it was lovely and clean when we went. Was so nice to have the place to ourselves so it wasn't overly busy, definitely worth it and hope to do it again next year.
Waited 40 minutes just for 2 drinks. One of the toy machine wasn't working and my daughter put money in which she didn't no it wasn't working. Went too ask staff for the money back out the machine as she didn't win a prize. All the staff were standing together laughing saying its only a pound. I get its only a pound but a child doesn't understand and was absolutely deverstated. Thought it was very rude how they all laughed and wasn't willing too do anything. I then spoke to the manager and he was also very rude and complained about how he had to get her money out the machine. We said thank you and he just gave us a dirty look. For the rest of the time we stayed I've never felt so uncomfortable by staff before laughing, talking and pointing at me because of the situation. No one should have too feel like that when you take your kids too a play centre. I have made a complaint but just been ignored. Its definitely a lot of money for you too feel uncomfortable. Definitely won't be going again
I give 2 stars because the girl who sold us the tickets was nice. The place is dirty, the music is too loud and the toys are tired, which I understand, but I can't understand why they are so dirty, some broken and dangerous for children under 2 years old. The place has potential and we thought we would have a nice place to play close our house, but unfortunately not. The girls working there don't seem to care. There was a situation where two of them were "cleaning" toys and one threw a toy near my child, she didn't even apologize. Disappointed with this place.
