Poley's Bridge is a medieval stone bridge spanning the River Cam in Cambridgeshire, England. Built in the 15th century, it features three arches with pointed cutwaters and is constructed from local limestone. The bridge's narrow width and steep approaches suggest it was originally designed for pedestrians and horse-drawn traffic. Despite being rebuilt and restored over the centuries, Poley's Bridge retains much of its original charm and character, offering picturesque views of the surrounding countryside and river.
Nice free car park, found via sat nav. We walked as far as Helland Bridge before turning back. Distance 5.5 miles, easy walking, met 5 horses being ridden, well controlled. A few cyclists, mostly using their bells. Met, walked and chatted with a couple from Essex who had found a circular walk via All Trails App. Enjoyed a quiet packed lunch, on return, at a picnic table 150mts from the car park, beside a bend in the river. Lovely day, planning to do other stops along the Camel trail in the future.
Car park and stop on Camel Valley cycle trail. Some sculptures and a chance to view nearby Clay Dry. No other facilities.
Lovely place to park. Can do a walk up or down the Camel Trail. Walking beside the river, see the old clay works. Now the leaves have dropped, new views of the countryside appear.
Lovely carpark next to wenford dries, watch out for security they have cameras and audio equipment, had a nice fright being spoken tool
Nice picnic area after walking from Bodmin along Camel Trail. Benches for seating and rubbish bin provided.
More of a car park than a bridge but a quite excellent one if you are sitting in something comfortable, not sure it would be too pleasant on a cold dank midwinters day.
