A picturesque fishing harbour on Cornwall's south coast, surrounded by quaint cottages, shops, and restaurants. Colourful boats bob gently on the water, while fishermen unload their daily catch. The harbour's narrow entrance, flanked by cliffs and rocky outcrops, opens onto a tranquil bay, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a boat trip to spot dolphins and seabirds.
This place is well worth a visit. A few things to know in advance. You can't drive down to the harbour you park on a large car park just up from the harbour. Be aware of two things. The car park spaces are too close together for a longer vehicle. I was in a saloon car and had to park on an end space or it would not have been easy or possible to get my car into the spaces. Minimum charge to park is PS7 and they only take cash. Once you've sorted that it's a 700 metre walk down to the harbour which is well worth it. Quaint artisan shops await with some great cafes and places to explore. Highly recommend Kitty's Lobster and seafood bar and the model village, both worth experiencing. Highly recommend a visit.
Nice place! Calm and quiet fisherman's village with a nice view. You can find some good restaurants and bakeries. Park the car in the parking area outside the village. You can pay in the machine or online. You can find public toilets inside the village if required
One of the most beautiful harbour areas in Cornwall. The walkways are small but quaint. There are plenty of benches around the harbour. A few cafes and pubs. A walkway along side it to a viewing point. ( look for the very small sign ) It looks dramatically different with the tide in vs out, and when it is out there's a very small beach area. Dogs allowed on the beach but on leads after 10am. Worth a visit, any time of the year.
Beautiful little village with convenient parking and plenty of shops to match the area, which can vary greatly in prices for similar objects. The harbourside has a lovely walk leading to a little beach (plenty of seaglass) with loads of rock pools and views of the boats coming in and out
I loved looking around the village and exploring the little shops. The weather was stunning and I could've stared at the harbour for hours. I would definitely recommend a trip here.
Visited Polperro for the first time today. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as predicted . A beautiful traditional Cornwall village with a lot of charming character. Many restaurants, a choir that gave some much life to the village. You really feel like you going back on time walking along the narrow paths . Lots of hungry seagulls too, so be extra careful Reasonable price food and drinks to go with it. Many opportunities for beautiful pictures for my collection. There were quite a lot of activities also going on for kids and families alike. A really great vibes. I would definitely recommend. Only negative feedback I have is about the parking..you can only pay with cash coins and we were not prepared for that ,if a really nice person did not help us out we would have to leave Please consider changing that
