A picturesque coastal haven, Polzeath Beach boasts soft golden sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and surfing. The beach is surrounded by rugged cliffs and lush green hills, creating a tranquil atmosphere. At low tide, the beach reveals a vast expanse of sand, ideal for beachcombing and building sandcastles. As the tide rises, the beach transforms into a surfer's paradise, with consistent waves suitable for all skill levels. The beach is dotted with rock pools, home to a diverse array of marine life, and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding coastline.
Really stunning beach! Lots of surfers about as it's a good place to catch big waves. Also lots of shops and food places nearby. If you walk along the beach from the car park and up across the grassy tops, you'll find Baby Bay. You can access it by walking up the street past the houses and there's steps leading down onto the sand. Further on from that is Cowrie Bay which is a very rocky beach and harder to get to but still possible (you'll have to climb down some slate looking rocks and past the rock pools until you come to the beach itself). But it's worth the trek as it's very isolated and the small arches are beautiful places to have picnics in the shade.
Lovely clean, tidy beach that is really respected by visitors. Enjoyed by all ages and dogs (dogs are allowed early morning and evenings during peak season)
Great beach for the family but keep your food packed away when you go in the water, as the seagulls are always on the lookout!
Such a beautiful place, and really popular for surfing. There are two beaches. The main one has the surf school and shops, but you can get to a smaller bay along the SW coastal path. Dogs are allowed on the beaches from September to May.
Great beach. Plenty of room, clean and tidy. Had a great few days there with my partner and 2 kids (6-11 yrs). Kids loved body boarding and playing in the rock pools. Plenty of places to eat and ample parking in the area. Highly recommended
This is an excellent beach with some good food stalls at the edge. With the tide out it was a LOOONG walk to the water. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather to enjoy it properly, but it was a nice day. Stunning views.
