Poole Quay Boat Haven can accommodate vessels of up to 60 metres. We recommend that visitors book in advance in order to guarantee a berth. As well as being perfectly positioned on the quayside with a stunning view of Brownsea Island, the lively cafes, bars and restaurants are close by. The only difficult choice you have to make is where to watch the sun go down! The main summer season at the Boat Haven runs from 1st April until the end of October, and winter berthing packages are available.
Great trip to Brownsea Island which is National Trust you have to get the ferry there and back which operates every half hour. Last boat back at 5. Ferry seems expensive but it is a return journey and the day is cheaper if you are a National Trust Member. Great cafe on the Island serving hot and cold food and drinks. Beautiful island to wander around spotting red squirrels and having a paddle off of South beach.
Went for a boat tour around Poole and Bournemouth. Absolutely loved it. Lots of pubs and eating places and generally, a good place to visit. One can even hire a boat to go out to sea. Parking was not too difficult to find behind a unused hotel. We had a quick meal after at a seafront restaurant right by the quay.
This is a lovely place to stroll, watching the boats coming and going. It's also great for people watching! There is a huge number of pubs along the quay, I was spoilt for choice! At the Sea Music sculpture (?) you can climb the stairs for a higher-up view.
Really lovely Quay. It's really pretty to walk along the waters edge and see the boats etc. Lots of lovely little shops dotted about and plenty of places to eat or have a drink. Some disabled parking nearby which was handy.
The weather is glorious. What better place to stroll along the quayside, with stunning views across the water. Mixture of millionaires yaughts and old sea fishing boats parked along the bay. Plenty of eateries hot and cold foods, drinks etc. Outside seating areas where you can watch the day to day life pass you by. Fantastic day in fabulous place.
Can be anything from vibrant to peaceful, depending upon when you visit. Plenty of pubs and restaurants, boat trips, working port, wide variety of visiting yachts and ships. Lots of events and fireworks in summer.
