A picturesque model village built in 1888 by William Lever, founder of Lever Brothers, a soap manufacturing company. The village was designed to provide a healthy and pleasant living environment for the company's workers, with attractive houses, gardens, and public buildings. The village features a mix of half-timbered and brick-built houses, with steeply pitched roofs and decorative chimneys. The streets are lined with trees and feature a village green, a church, and a number of community buildings. The village is now a popular tourist destination and a testament to the philanthropic efforts of its founder.
