A 3-mile stretch of sandy beach along the Swansea Bay coastline, backed by a promenade with cafes, restaurants, and amusement arcades. The beach is a popular spot for water sports, including surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding, and is also a favorite among walkers and those looking to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Lovely big clean beach. Great for dog walking or just a stroll. Easy access on and off the beach for everyone. There is also a promenade with benches, and a few places to eat and drink.
Aberaeron Beach is a lovely place to walk your dogs or take children in all seasons (dogs only allowed on beach between frombend of September to beginning of May) There is a cafe, Pirates golf (open in season), children's playground , outdoor paddling pool (being refurbished at the moment Jan 2024) public toilets, disabled toilets, parking on the main road, lifeboat house and surfing school. Plenty of grass to have picnics on etc, plenty of seats along the promenade There is also a cinema, indoor swimming pool and restaurant opposite the promenade. New houses being built
One of the best beaches in these parts. Not widely appreciated, due in part, to the perception of a dirty big steelworks. But, in recent year the area has been developed, with clean beach, dog free areas, cafes and restaurants, cinema, public conveniences, children's play and splash areas and not forgetting the blue whale and penguins. Definitely a good day out for all ages.
I was born in port talbot, so I used to visit this beach a lot, the council decided to build houses right up to the prominard , I've nit seen what happens at high tide. Anyway, paddling pools come and gone and back again, there was at one time a pavilion with a punch and judy show, speakers playing along the prom, so lots of changes, even the fair has gone. But its still a nice place to visit in good weather.
Visited on a very cold January afternoon. Surprising amount of people there, mostly walking dogs. A very enjoyable walk along the promenade with the sound of the sea rolling in
Superb sandy beach, great water sport location
