The Port of Felixstowe is a bustling hub of maritime activity, with a pier that stretches out into the North Sea. The pier is lined with cranes, containers, and cargo ships, giving a glimpse into the busy world of international trade. The surrounding area is a mix of industrial and natural landscapes, with the pier's edge marked by a sandy beach and the distant sound of seagulls filling the air. As the sun sets, the pier takes on a romantic quality, with the fading light casting a golden glow over the scene.
A lovely view on the port and the ships and containers. A cafe onsite and car parking is PS1.80 for two hours. 4 disabled spaces in the main car park but there's plenty of room to manover. Disabled access to cafe but you can't go along the promenade towards the corner near the fort, three steps stop you from doing this. Plenty of benches along the front at least 6 with back supports and another 6 with no back supports. A great place to spend a few hours watching the sea and ships.
We normally view from the nature reserve although there is a cafe and toilets at the dock view point car park but the car park is not free.
Great to see the ship being loaded, was busy with visitors but could find a seat to sit and watch. You can catch the bus 77 every hour from Felixstowe for PS2 back into town.
All the nature bits blocked off is making it less enjoyable. The fact you can't walk round the edge of of the beach now is ridiculous. I'm all for wildlife but it's going too far this year
Lotta boxes, nice cafe, handy ferry and the wonderful Languard Fort.
Sehr laut und viel betrieb
Good for kids
