Lochview resort lodge with a restaurant and bar, treatment spa, conferencing space and a marina.
This was a two night surprise trip away for our good friends celebrating their Ruby Wedding. I booked one of the cottages, which on arrival we were very impressed with both the size, modern features and cleanliness. |Beds were very comfortable and kitchen equipment etc plentiful. We used the oven, as I took along dinner for the first night and it was great to have a supply of washing liquid/kitchen towels etc to do the dishes. |We used the Spa three times during our visit utilising the one and half hour slots to the full on each occasion. |Spent all the time in the outside heated infinity pool and the two heated jacuzzi's which were amazing. Weather was touch and go, but did not detract from any of our activities we had organised. The complimentary round of golf on the Kyles of Bute golf course was very much enjoyed. ||On our second night we dined in the restaurant and had a lovely experience. All staff were very attentive and polite. Food was plentiful, hot and very tasty and a nice touch was a birthday singalong and chocolates to celebrate my husbands 60th.||Breakfast on both mornings hit the spot, with a great choice of both continental and full Scottish. Also the haddock and poached eggs was delicious. A special mention about Rory, who on both mornings attended to our every need with a smile.||Our friends had such a great surprise away and we all agreed, we would happily return to Portavadie again in the future.
Our family had an excellent two night stay at Portavadie. We stayed in the new cabins which were great. Very comfortable and clean. Lots of good walking routes and lovely scenery. We used the Spa too which was excellent. The infinity pool was perfectly heated with amazing views of the surrounding county side and Loch Fyne.||The dining experience was brilliant and the menu and choice of food was perfect. Everyone in our family remarked on how good the food was. We have dined out in a variety of restaurants around the UK and the world, and the food at Portavadie is up there with the best. ||Staff are pleasant, happy to help and advise. All round it was a fantastic trip and we all left very happy after a great weekend. Keep up the good work guys!
A nice escape from everything. Peaceful and remote. It was more modern than we expected + the spa was lovely (especially the outside). Not many facilities within the spa which makes the 90 min booking (per day) suit well.||All staff were lovely and relaxed looking which helped with the feel of the place.||The menu was quite broad so there is defos something for everyone.||We booked a classic lodge room which was cosy. We had a great night sleep.||Only L's were that the bed appeared to be two small beds installed together and that the inside of the spa had a loudish buzzing sound.||P.S Make sure to double check that you drive the right way as we accidentally put in the ferry route. Luckily, when calling the staff, they were lovely and were able to change our spa and massage treatment times.||Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
The complex was as usual first class, the Lodge superior room was just that, and the staff were lovely.|We have been before and wanted our relatives to enjoy it as much as we had.|However, the weather was awful - nothing anyone could do about that. |The outdoor pool seemed cooler than we remember, and the main indoor pool had a notice apologising how cold it was - they weren't kidding.|Breakfast consisted of eggs - both poached and fried that had been cooked ages before as was the sausage. Continental choice was excellent.|The ferry to Tarbert wasn't running, again out-with the control of the complex.|Lacklustre was the word to describe our trip. Such a shame, we previously loved this 2 day break
The room we stayed in was great a classic lodge on the ground floor it was ideal for our needs. We have previously stayed in the floor above with fantastic views but on this visit we had a lot of luggage and were happy not to carry it upstairs. The food in the restaurant was very good indeed I particularly enjoyed the potato gnocchi dish better than most of the Italian restaurants I have eaten in. The pools outside were great as was the sauna and jacuzzi inside. The main swimming pool was a bit too cold for me. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we are looking forward to our next visit.
Great site, good size level pitches where you choose your own pitch. Excellent, spotless facilities. You can use the leisure and spa facilities at a reduced rate. Dog friendly. We were disappointed to find out that the bike hire facility is not available to the motorhome park customers. Highly recommend.
