This 3-star hotel features modern rooms with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and 24-hour room service. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there's also a bar and lounge area. Guests can enjoy free parking and a fitness center.
We stayed here 2/8/2024 only for one night as we were travelling quite a distance. Went into the room and only 1 pillow each on the beds, room was right at top of the stairs which I thought was a good thing as didn't need to search for it. NO I was SO wrong room was right next to possibly the staff room? Continuous banging from 4am until we decided to leave at roughly 8am. This had us all up most of the night so we all had the worst night's sleep ever. Will not be returning.||However room was spotless so gave an extra score for that.
Firstly do not book an evening meal deal. We booked 3 weeks in advance with the evening meal deal and breakfast. We received an email the day before informing us that the restaurant would be shut so no evening meal. We stayed on a Saturday night and the bar wasn't even open, there where a lot of unhappy customers. Not worth posting photos as there are plenty of them. We stayed in a twin room with shower over the bath the usual premier inn spec. This hotel has no air con and the rooms can get very warm, although a tower fan was supplied and the windows opened slightly wider than the usual ones. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice shame the evening meal and bar was not available for that reason I have to mark it down. That and the fact the was a dirty sock under our beds and the hotel could do with a bit of improvement.
Great welcome on arrival. Bedroom was very simple and bare, no pictures on the wall, with lots of room. It was not as clean as I have expected from previous stays at Premier Inn, (the window sill was very dirty - see photos), though the room itself and bathroom was clean. Despite being very busy, it was surprisingly quiet and I slept very well. For those who stay more than one night, Premier Inn won't clean your room unless you ask at reception. Breakfast, in the nearby restaurant, was rather mixed in review. No orange juice but tropical juice was a rather nice alternative. The cooked breakfast - mushrooms were quite dry, the tomatoes were juicy, the hash browns were very crunchy and delicious. The ordered poached eggs were overcooked and the vegetarian sausages looked like something I can't mention in polite society (see photo!) and were disgusting. I think they were microwaved? It's a shame as I think if they were pan fried, they probably would be quite nice. Overall, a very mixed stay.
Firstly, the staff are lovely, welcoming and are 5 star. Special mention to Georgina on reception. To all looking to stay here please note the pub next door is only open for breakfast then closes until 5pm for dinner. Not great if you want a drink and a bite on arrival. I saw many people turned away when there appeared to be plenty of room. I wouldn't stay again due to these restrictions and that the Premier Inn prices are now quite high for rooms that are basic and need a good clean. I hope this template isn't replicated through to all hotels.
Breakfast only available for guests not walk in|Maybe should be put on the website instead of us driving 15 miles just to be turned away |All 8 of us adults ended up at wetherspoons in Dumfries. Instead highly recommend instead|Restaurant building looked like it had been closed a number of years ,Tatty, rundown, peeling paint no signs
Did a stop over on route to our holiday. The service was great, the staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating.||||I appreciate there has been some issues around the transition from table table to premier inn at the restaurant, but the staff couldn't do enough and the food was good value.||Very family friendly hotel ideal for a stop over when travelling.
