This 3-star hotel is located in the heart of Gosport, offering comfortable and modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and 24-hour room service. The on-site restaurant serves a range of international dishes, and there's also a bar and lounge area where guests can relax. The hotel is close to the Gosport Ferry Terminal and the town's historic harbour, with the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Spinnaker Tower nearby.
Premier Inns can be tricky to review. They aim to offer a decent, fairly basic, experience at an attractive price and, for the most part, succeed. This one is on the edge of Gosport, but close to a pub serving food and with good public transport links to the centre. The exterior is beginning to show its age, but our room was in very good condition and a sensible size, with a desk and an easy chair as well as the bed. Storage was limited, but adequate for a night or two. The bed appeared comfortable, but we both had a rather sweaty night. It may have been just one of those things, but I suspect some bedding that didn't breathe enough. The continental breakfast was a bit of a scrum, but good value for money (with the possible exception of the fruit juice).|The staff were all friendly and trying their utmost to be helpful. But the Premier Inn formula means that they are very limited in numbers, and none of them can be in two places at once. We arrived to an unmanned reception desk because the person on it was dealing with an (entirely legitimate) issue for another guest - and his helping us meant that someone else also had to wait. But that's how the prices stay low.
As ever, booking an appropriate date was straightforward. The hotel, while looking a little worn, was clean and well-organised. Our room, a Family Room was a good size and well appointed. The air-con works and kept the room at a comfortable temperature each night. The breakfasts were up to Premier Inn's usual standard with plenty of choice and well able (and happy) to accommodate for allergies. It would have been nice to have the option of half board, but not an option at this PI (which is stated on the web site). All in all, a very nice short break (3 nights) and all credit to the staff.
Me and my family stayed over Victorious weekend and all I can say is a big bravo to the staff, the receptionist (Kee) was lovely and was there both days (Fri and Sat) she always had a smile on her face, and was very accommodating. When she checked us in she said she was training and she's sorry if she's slow but she had a queue of festival goers who couldn't get into their room yet and they were all complaining and she handled it awesomely! They all wanted to get ready so she made the decision to get everybody to queue up and use the toilet in reception, she was very apologetic for the situation and for someone who is training I think she handled a situation out of her hands perfectly. |Also bravo to the kitchen team, our breakfast was lovely |Thank you to Kee for your kindness and empathy for guests. I will be staying again.
Room was average, standard for a standard price. I do recommend bringing your own toiletries as shampoo and body wash provided is 2-in-1 and not the best quality. But the service was top notch. The breakfast provided was lovely, worth the money you pay for it. Also, the hotel manager Irita was a delight and constantly checked in on us throughout the stay!
The hotel from the outside looks quiet dirty and could do with a clean up. The room we had 107 was as expected the carpet looked like it could do with a change apart from that was ok the mattress was a little bit hard. The dinning space could do with be bigger considering the size of the Hotel.
We stayed here in April I did post a 5* review but for some reason it's not showing, which is a real shame because we had a great stay there. When we booked, I happened to mention to mention that our youngest daughter who has SEN, has always been mad about premier inn and anything about them. When we got to our interconnecting rooms, the lovely staff there had placed a lovely gift on our daughters bed with a lovely note on it for her too bless them. The rooms were lovely, (don't let the slightly dated exterior of the hotel put you off) As I say, the staff are lovely, and we cannot praise them enough for making our stay extra special by what they did for us. The next time we are down that way, we will definitely book again. On our experience we would recommend it without any hesitation.
