What a brilliant site!! The tents were amazing and really thoughtfully equipped and immaculate. Beds really comfy and great to have bean bags to relax. But we spent most time outside enjoying the fabulous scenery and river, where we saw so much wildlife. Fire pits a great treat and we ate all our meals from them. Would definitely return. Thanks for a great stay.
Liked: Absolutely loved this campsite. We had a pitch right next to the River Wye which was just beautiful. Camp site is dog friendly which is a huge bonus. The owner was so so friendly, and would always pop by to see how we were and stop to say hello when he was around. The Portaloos were cleaned every morning at 7:30am and even by the end of the day, were surprisingly still clean. We loved it here. Only thing to note is that the shower blocks are for the glampers only. A short 15 minute walk away is a lovely pub called The Yew Tree which has the friendliest landlord! Thanks Preston - We will be back!
Liked: This was possibly my favourite campsite of the year. There was only 2 other pitches taken with it being mid week so it was so so quiet. Sandwiched between the river with waterside access for a paddle, and then loads of lovely fields and views. The pitches have picnic tables which is really useful and I pitched up under a tree for shade. This is a very basic campsite with portaloo toilets and one sink/water point. Also despite what Pitchup says the showers are just for people who are glamping. However the price reflects this so just make sure you pack wet wipes and dry shampoo or a solar shower. The farmer who owns the site is an absolute gem, he was so lovely to chat to. I think what made this for me was it was really quiet with it being midweek, I'm not sure I would have appreciated it if it was full however! Disliked: None, I loved it.
Liked: Lovely spacious site in a great location next to the river Wye. The site had access onto the Wye which was great for our paddle boarding. We hired a camp fire from the owner of the site which made the evening extra special. The pitches were spacious and the owner really friendly and happy to do anything to help. There was a pub serving good beer just a 15 minute walk away. Disliked: The toilets were portaloos, but you could upgrade to the nicer toilets.
Liked: The location is perfect and the site is spacious . Checked in Thurs, so site was quite and had lovely spot yards from the river. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. The local pub , 10 mins walk , serving excellent beer and food, was a massive plus. Disliked: Be warned showers, as indicated on pitch up , are not available unless glamping. The 4 portaloos , only one of which dispensed water for hand cleaning , were insufficient to cope with the weekend influx of approximately 60 people . And the single washing sink requires upgrading . The Addition of a shower , washing, toilet block would elevate this site to near perfect.
Liked: Beautiful, peaceful location on the bank of the river. The owner is absolutely charming and couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Great pub less than 10 minutes walk away. Couldn't have hoped for a better location in the middle of the beautiful, unspoiled countryside. We loved it and will definitely come back.
