This lovely park, lined by colourful beach huts is just a short stroll from Paignton town centre and beach
Lovely for a gentle stroll. Level footpaths and plenty of benches to sit on. Very friendly area and the views are amazing.
From today, no dogs allowed on the beach, until 1st October 2024. Our dogs suffer from depression between now and end of September because they can't go down on the sands. They love to run and play on the sand especially when the tide is out.
It seems like a really nice place to hang out for the day. The tide was all the way in and slightly aggressive so my husband and daughter tell me. Take some change as you currently have to pay 30p to use the toilets, there are lots of beach guys to hire for the day. I have no clue where from though. Watch out for seaweed monsters
Beautiful beach to come and relax with the family . Close to all amenities, which is really good. After the beach take a trip to the pier where there are amusements for the kids to play. On a beautiful day you can see right out onto Brixham, and Torquay. Come on down and enjoy the English Riveria.
When I was a kid I used to think why would anyone come here when Paignton beach is next to it! Now, I prefer it because there are no amusements, no brash eateries selling doughnuts and second rate coffees. Basically it is not brash. The downside is that dog owners tend to use this beach more. But still, with beach huts across the whole length, nice coffee and ice cream huts there is a "family feel " to it with locals owning the majority of the beach huts. Parking is not easy in the summer as the beach huts take up all the previous vacant space during the winter. And, the good old council have also installed parking meters everywhere else! But still, it's charm shines through. It has a small playground and bags of open green space to play games. And ofcourse, beautiful views across Torbay with at present numerous cruise ships to admire....
Water looked inviting and over 400 beach huts in some fabulous colours. Nice to walk along the promenade. For people with young children there is loads to do, a funfair, waterslide, seaside cafes, shops with buckets and spades etc and a man-made beach. Stayed about an hour and then moved on.
