Visitors can sip tea & feed pigs at this tranquil Benedictine monastery with a teahouse & a farm.
We visited Quarr Abbey on Friday as a coach party, what a beautiful place. The garden's are beautiful, there is a small cafe, shop, where you can get local produce. I brought their own Honey which I was told about I also brought homemade Victoria sponge cake in the cafe with a lovely cup of tea absolutely delicious .. my husband and I went into the chapel that was so special. We lit a candle and said a prayer for family who we have lost... This place is such a beautiful place to visit...
A beautiful place in beautifully set surroundings. Great place for all ages. The monks have a way of life and its great to be apart of it. The kids love feeding the pigs. The cafe is nice and clean and service is OK. We went on a busy hot day. The toilets are clean with disabled access.
Went twice first time we had a good look around , fantastic place with a cafe with a big tea garden, shop and exhibition. There's a woodland walk with a hide to view the wildlife. If you're lucky enough you will see the red squirrels, unfortunately our luck wasn't in. Also as you enter the abbey they have there pigs which are a big attraction. We found all the staff polite and helpful and ver chatty. Our second visit we stopped off for a cup of tea as we were passing . Well worth a visit and it's totally free.
We spent a lovely couple of hours here with our two little girls. Great place for a picnic and walk through the stunning grounds. And its free!!
A lovely quiet and peaceful place to just come and sit. Or have a lovely light lunch, cream tea or picnic! Or explore the fascinating history surrounding this working Abbey. Well worth the trip
Nice quiet place to visit. Large car park with some disabled spaces. Short walk to see the Abbey. Pig pens with pigs you can feed fresh vegetables to or buy feed from the farm shop. The farm shop has good range local produce and jams made made at the Abbey. Interesting small display about the history of the Abbey and small reglious book shop. The cafe sells wide range of hot and cold food and drinks plus cakes. Some of the surfaces are a bit rough but all of it is wheelchair accessible but you might need a little help in places. Inside the farm shop is a very steep slope. Really lovely place to walk around and visit.
