A lovely local Park & Nature Reserve with Green Flag status, outdoor gym, children's play areas & MUGA. Woodland walks, Zip wire & free car parking.
It was the first time we've been and it was to attend their 25th anniversary and the scarecrow Festival. I was helping as a volunteer from Friends of Sandall Park and we had entered a scarecrow in the competition ..Mr Crow. There were 17 entries and It was a fabulous turnout with lots of people coming to vote for their favourite scarecrow. The Friends of Quarry Park are a wonderful group of people and Quarry Park is such a fabulous place. They just got the 21/22 green flag award and if you visit you will see why. It's brilliant for dog walking, great play areas and a green gym. We will be back to explore the woodland walks and I can also add to this review!
We love the Quarry Park as it is a great place to walk put dog, however some people that use it don't clear up after their dogs and they let them off the lead alot. Numerous times we have had big dogs come bounding over to us completely out of control which makes our dog aggressive as he is always on a lead and feels threatened. We try and go at times where there are few people and fewer dogs
It has lovely play areas which are for various ages. There is plenty to do & it's a nice walk.
My best park
Not being from the area, I do like this place. Had a walk round the woods this time (been before in summer) and I reckon when the trees are in full foliage, it could be quite impressive. The saddening thing about here is how all those trees that were planted for fallen war heroes were mindlessly vandalised by mindless morons. Some ppl have little if any respect for the men who died for the freedom we take for granted. Being a veteran myself, it breaks my heart
